Bronzer 101

Summer is just around the corner and who doesn't love the look of sun kissed skin? We all know the importance of protecting our skin from sun damage, so it's even better when we can fake that bronzy glow with makeup! If you are clueless about how to apply natural looking bronzer, read on to learn the basics!

First, choose a shade that isn't too dark for your skin. Anyone at Sephora or a makeup counter can help you choose the best shade for you. If you go the drug store route, hold the bronzer up next to your face, and make sure to choose one that is no more than 2 shades darker than your face. Choose one with a matte finish for the most natural result.

And don't forget your tools! A good bronzer brush will make all the difference. We adore the Sephora Collection Pro Flawless Bronzer Brush #46 because it is the perfect shape and size for the ultimate bronzer application trick.

Take your brush, dip it in your bronzer and gently shake off the excess. Starting at the center of your forehead, draw a number 3 down the side of your face. The center of the three your cheek bone, and the bottom of it is your jawline. Make sure to use a very light hand, keeping in mind that you can always add more, but it's very difficult to scale back if you apply too much! This technique is the fastest, easiest way to create a natural looking glow and is our tried and true method. We love it and know you will too!
